Testing through TestFlight? You can also send feedback from the TestFlight app, or take a screenshot in SoCal and share it as beta feedback.
What to put in a bug report
- Your device and its system version, for example "iPhone 15, iOS 18.6" or "MacBook Air, macOS 15".
- The app's version and build, shown at the top of More › About, for example "Version 1.0 (282)".
- What you did, what you expected, and what happened instead, step by step if you can.
- A screenshot or a screen recording.
- When it happened, date and time, so it can be matched to a crash report.
- Where in the app: the screen, and which chart and layers were on.
- For AIS or instruments: your gateway's make and model, TCP or UDP, and whether the AIS & Instrument Simulator or the GPS Override was on (both are in More › Settings › Data Sources).
- For sync: whether you use iCloud, a Keeldragger account, or both, and on which devices. More › Settings › Account & Sync has Diagnostics at the foot of the page: Run Diagnostics, then Copy Report, and paste it into your email.
Never send your password or your sync passphrase. We will never ask for them. A ship's log or an instrument recording contains your positions, so attach one only if you're comfortable sharing it.

Is it free?
Yes.
Do I need an account?
No. A free Keeldragger account adds end-to-end encrypted sync with the web edition and other devices, and lets you share your boat or follow another.
Where are the charts?
KD Charts and the NOAA chart download in More › Settings › Chart Downloads. Choose which one shows in Layers.
How do I stop sharing my boat?
Switch it off in Boats › My Boat, or in More › Settings › Share My Boat. Delete shared history is on the same page.
Are my messages private?
Only the people in a conversation see it, but messages are not end-to-end encrypted: we can read them, and do so only to deliver them and to act on a report. The privacy policy has the detail.
How do I report or block someone?
Touch and hold a message and choose Report…, or open the conversation's Details to report or block someone. We read every report within 48 hours, and someone you block can't message you, request you or add you to a group.
Can I use Messages in an emergency?
No. Messages needs a data connection and nobody is watching it for you. In an emergency, call the Coast Guard on VHF channel 16 or by phone.
How do I delete my account?
More › Settings › Account & Sync › Delete Account, or Delete account in the web edition's Account panel. Or email us.
Can I join the beta?
Yes: join on TestFlight for iPhone, iPad and Mac, to try the next version before it reaches the App Store.
